This is definitely one of those wordpress plugins to store in your memory banks and recall when you are doing that one project which requires integration with an outside app.
Its been a while since I’ve read about web hooks (push vs pull/poll). It was a pleasant surprise today to see it integrated into WordPress via HookPress plugin (by mitcho). This is one of those plugins that make integration with other apps (custom or not) much easier.
I am sure there are plenty of other examples, please post any random ones that come to your mind, but one maybe: account creation, when a WordPress account is created, a web hook is fired to create a forum account or similar. Or, when a comment is posted, a web hook is fired to send a txt message.
Anyway, this is definitely one of those plugins to store in your memory banks and recall when you are doing that one project which requires integration with an outside app.
Great plugin. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while.
I used simple hooks for Genesis but it doesn’t do anything like this.
Excellent contribution I will be very useful to me!
Greetings!
