I’ve significantly reduced comment spam on this blog. I have been trying out a different WordPress comment spam plugin. Now I am getting between 5-10 spam comments a week (skimming is much easier). If you are having problems with comment spam on your blogs, give this plugin a try.
This website is a modest size blog, with it’s fair share of comment spam. About once or twice a week I do my admin duties: updating plugins, approving and responding to comments and of course deleting spam. The amount of spam is typically around 200-400 spam comments per week. I often skim them for fear of missing a valid comment (and I have spotted some valid comments marked as spam).

If you are having problems with comment spam on your blog, I recommend giving the WP-SpamFree WordPress plugin a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
